Disable SSID Broadcast

Enable or disable your SSID broadcast?From our previous tutorial about installing wireless routers (index.php/Helpful-tutorials/home-wireless-network.html) it was really easy to to set it up. Having a key (password) to your wireless network would keep internet hitchers away from your home network. Some of you have known this already but i found it more helpful to disable your SSID Broadcast and it add a little securty to your home network. It might be a little hard to connect to the network but its worthy. Generally if you have your SSID Broadcast enabled. To connect to you network all you need to do is refresh the list of available wireless network that your laptop or desktop can reach. With the SSID broadcast disabled you have to manually create this connection in order for it to show up on your available wireless network.Steps to manaully add wireless network to your Windows XP computer:1. Click on Start 2. Click on Control Panel 3. Click on Network Connections 4. Right-click on your Wireless Connections then select Properties 5. On Properties windows, click on the Wireless Network tab.6. Click on Add wireless network. Carrington-Blog sidebar alignment

If you are using word press blogs (http://www.wordpress.org) it more than likely you end up using a very nice free template called Carrington Blog. (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/carrington-blog) With this Free template there's a problem viewing it on internet explorer. The secondary sidebar is showing right below the primary sidebar. But there's nothing to worry i have a fix for this. All you need is access to the css file under carrington-blog folder. The complete address for this folder is: ../wp-content/themes/carrington-blog/css/ie.cssAfter opening ie.css add this line at the very end:#sidebar #secondary-sidebar Save the file and upload it if you are using a FTP.

Cpanel is the software we use for our web hosting. It has a very simple email system inplace with ample of features. How to add email accounts:Click mail icon (see image above)Click Add / Remove / Manage AccountsClick on [ Add account ] Enter desired email prefixEnter desired passwordEnter space quota for mail boxClick Create Once account is created you can use your webmail system or use Microsoft Outlook as a POP3 account. For webmail you can access it thru http://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail -username is your full email address and enter password. How to change password for cpanel webmail :Log to webmail - http://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail Enter username - (full email address) Enter Password Click on [Change Password] Enter new password and confirm Click on Change Password

Most of the time when you post an ad on Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org) you always try to figure out how to post your web address as a hyper link so the viewer would just click on the link and get directed to your website. Problem: How can you post a hyperlink on craigslist? Answer: add this line (text in red) on your Posting Description box on your craigslist ad. (see below) croveanLine above will output a hyperlink like this: crovean (http://www.crovean.com)Just change the crovean.com to your web address and crovean to whatever text you want to show. How to install wireless router

( Ex: http://192.168.1.1 ) You will be prompt by a login screen, type in the username and password, then click OK ( refer above for login info). On your routers control panel click on wireless tab. On this tab we will be setting up:1. SSID or network name (name your wireless connection).2. Broadcast your SSID. 3. Security mode set to WEP .4. Encryption set to 64bit (10hex digit).5. Generate a passphrase (random word).6. Write down key1 (you need this key to get in your wireless network).7.
